My npower League one predictions for this season:
My predictions for this season:
To be promoted:- Charlton Athletic
2nd place:- Sheffield Weds
Play-off places- Sheffield United, Huddersfield Town, Preston and Brentford
Relegated- Yeovil Town, Tranmere, Wycomb and Oldham
Obviously I would love Notts to be challenging for a promotion this season but with the current squad I can't see us any higher than maybe a 15/16 place finish?

So, here we are looking forward to a another season supporting the oldest leauge club in the world. A season away from our 150th year.

A Trip to Turin and 3 points so far this week!
On Sunday it was made public that Notts county had been chosen by Italian giants Juventus to play an exhibition game in Turin at there new 41,000 seater stadium. It’s a massive honour to have been considered for such a game and it marks another historic link between the two clubs, maybe this will also help to secure a permanent link between the two clubs some time in the future. This will be a massive occasion not just for the Notts fans but for the players, it’s once in a lifetime, and a high point in there careers.
So back down to earth with a thud last night when Tranmere visited Meadow Lane. Martin Allen rested a couple of players from the weekend and changed things round a little. After an even start to the game Tranmere went one up on ten minutes when Welsh scored from a nicely worked corner. I think it was the first time I have ever seen a team start to time waste so early in the game, shocking tactics. Notts had a few chances to level before the break but went in one down. Notts came out a little stronger in the second half and shortly after the break levelled with Julian Kelly’s first goal for the club, and one he will never forget, a perfectly struck volley from the edge of the box went crashing into the back of the net. Eight minutes later Notts County took the lead when a Krystian pearce just got his head to a Sheehan cross, 2-1 Notts. We battled hard to get the lead and Notts were on the receiving end of some extremely harsh challenges from Rovers and they managed to pull the game back to 2-2 on 80 minutes when Labadie scored from long range. With the 37 fouls throughout the game the ref found 6 minutes of added time which County dominated and eventually in the 5th minute were rewarded a penalty, subsequently two Rovers players were dismissed and Jeff Hughes stepped up to secure a 3-2 home win for Notts.
Tranmere played four and a half seconds of attractive Football last night and that was the corner they scored from, the rest was tactically appalling.
The Ref: I’m not going to say an awful lot about the referee other than SHOCKING.
Can this week get any better?..... Well 3 points against Sheffield Weds this weekend would top off a great week for Notts County!
Nottingham Forest V's Notts County Preview

So Notts County are one game into the season and we are facing what could be our biggest game of the season, in early August against the once mighty Nottingham Forest. Its a game that will wet the appetite of any Notts fan and we have sold over 5,000 tickets so far! After the perfect result in Notts opening game of the season the players are going to be up for it.
Both teams will be eager to make an impression so early in the season, the pressure is on Forest and the spotlight will be pointing directly at Steve McLaren on his return to english football to beat Notts. After a poor start to the season Forest will be desperate for a result against Notts and get their optimistic Premierleague dream back on in the npower Championship.
do we need a new strike force?
Last season Notts struggled in front of goal, relying heavily on Lee Hughes on a number of occasions to get them a result, this season needs to be a different story. Already we have proved we can score goals fom all areas of the team and it's a relief to score three goals against Carlisle. It would be nice for a couple of potent strikers which will instil a little fear into the defences of opposition teams which I'm sure will come very soon.
What are the chances of a shock
I think we have a great chance of pulling off a shock result , I personally think we will get a draw at the city ground and take them back to Meadow Lane to finish them off.
Cast your minds back to the 2009/10 preseason friendly with Forest which Notts won 2- 1, it was a great game and far from friendly in my opinion. Anything can happen in this fixture.
My score prediction:
Nottingham Forest 1-1 Notts County
Lets hope for a decent crowd, excellent atmosphere fron the traveling fans and a night to remember!
